Private Tastings
There are an infinite number of ways to do private tastings and we’d love to help you plan your unique event! If you’re interested in hosting, please contact us and we can talk about your vision!
In the meantime, to get things cooking, here are two basic formats that have been successful for us.
“In 7 Glasses” Format
If you’ve been to any of our ticketed events, you’re likely familiar with this format. We go deep into a broad theme and the class lasts between 1.5-2 hours (including a brief intermission). This is the format we usually do for in-home tastings.
A World Of Wine Mini Tasting
These are really fun events to host and perfect for large groups of people (+20), especially if you’re unsure of the general level of wine knowledge. Here’s the catch though, these typically aren’t Wine 101 classes. They’re deep dives into an advanced theme but presented in a highly approachable and oftentimes funny manner. These are the tastings which we run for luxury apartment buildings, corporate events, or wedding parties.
Some other considerations and inclusions
- All the required glassware (Riedel) is provided
- food recommendations for pairing/sourcing is provided
- Near wholesale pricing on all the wine served.
- Some leave behinds - tasting sheets, maps, etc.
Note - 2oz pours are ideal for the nature of a tasting. It’s enough to sip a wine, revisit it, then revisit it again. Due to the nature of wine tastings and the size of bottles, 7 x 2 oz pours is a bit over a half of bottle of wine per guest, which, depending on who you ask, is an ample amount of wine. Additionally, as bottles have about 25 ounces, that makes multiples of 10-12 people the ideal number to split a bottle for a tasting.
